Online Registration


I am having trouble getting started with the online registration.

I’m not sure which Registration Category I should choose.

There are two registration options for the Oregon HR Academy:

If you are a SHRM member please select “SHRM Member.”

If you are not a SHRM member please select “Non-SHRM Member.” Please note that the Non-SHRM Member price includes a one-year SHRM membership. If you select “Non-SHRM Member” you will be provided with membership forms onsite.


I cannot find my Registration Confirmation email.

A registration confirmation email is sent automatically once you have completed your online registration. It serves as your official invoice and is sent to the email address you used to register.


If you have not received your registration confirmation, please follow these steps:
  1. Wait 60 minutes after registering. Occasionally registration confirmations are slightly delayed if the system is particularly busy.
  2. Check your clutter and spam folders. The subject of the email will be “Registration Confirmation: NHRMA Spring HR Academy 2020 – OR”
  3. Email and request that your registration confirmation be resent.

What is included in the Conference registration fee?

The registration fee includes all sessions outlined in the agenda, three lunches, and refreshment breaks.

Can I become a member of SHRM and then register with the member price?

You may become a member of SHRM and then register at the member price. However, the Non-SHRM Member rate includes a SHRM membership.

I have already completed my registration, but I need to modify it. How can I do that?

If you would like to edit your order after you submitted your registration, please email for assistance.

I selected “check” as my payment option but now I want to pay with a credit card.

I need to cancel my Conference registration. What is the cancellation policy?

We are happy to accommodate a refund for your purchase if you are unable to find a substitute prior to the deadline. Cancellation requests must be made in writing by emailing Cancellations received by March 13, 2020 will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. Unfortunately, no refunds will be given for cancellations received after March 13, 2020. 

I can no longer attend the Conference, but my colleague is available. What is the substitution policy?

Know someone else who is interested in attending? Payment of a $50 administrative fee enables you to transfer your registration to another person, simply by emailing Substitutions will be transferred at the same rate as the original registration. Substitutions can be made until the close of online registration (March 27, 2020) or at the onsite registration desk.


I have some dietary restrictions/special needs. How do I inform the Conference Planners?

You will be able to enter any dietary restrictions or special needs information during the registration process. A member of our team will be in contact to assist you, if necessary.  Please note that due to vendor limitations, some requests may be combined (i.e. receiving a meal that is dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian) or not accommodated.


Can I register onsite?

You may register onsite at the Registration Desk.


Can I just attend one day of the Conference?

One-day registration is not available for the HR Academy.




Where will conference registration be located?

Registration will be located in the Foyer of the Embassy Suites.


I would like to reserve a hotel room in Portland. Which hotel should I contact?

Visit the Location Page ( for accommodations options. Discounted accommodations rates are available for HR Academy attendees until March 7, 2020, or until the group block is sold out, whichever occurs first. Conference attendees that reserve through the group block also receive complimentary in-room Wi-Fi. A list of area hotels will be posted to the Location Page if the room block sells out.


All the hotels listed on your website are booked, what do I do?

Rooms typically open back up in the two weeks before the conference. Please book a room at a nearby hotel and check back to see if any rooms in the block have opened.


Is wi-fi provided during the Conference?

Complimentary wi-fi will be provided in all meeting spaces.


What should I wear?

Business casual attire is preferred. Be sure to wear layers, as the meeting spaces may run hot or cool compared to your comfort level – layers are key!




Are there any credits available for this Conference?

The HR Academy has applied for credits through SHRM and HRCI.
